Editorial policy
Genuine Style Journal aims to make thoughtful, readable work about personal style. We explain the basis for our claims, distinguish observation from opinion and make corrections when we get something wrong.
Accuracy and context
We check names, dates, descriptions and other factual details against suitable sources before publication. Historical and cultural references receive context rather than being treated as universal rules. Style advice is presented as perspective, not as a guarantee or requirement.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial choices are made for reader interest, not in exchange for coverage. Any sponsored or partner material is clearly labelled so readers can tell it apart from independent editorial work. A commercial relationship does not guarantee a favourable assessment.
Corrections
If you spot an error, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and passage. We review correction requests and, when a change is warranted, update the text and make the correction clear to readers.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be generated with AI. Illustrative images are not evidence of a real garment, person, event or historical object; we take care not to present them as documentary photographs.
